Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Disability Claims

When there is an injury, compression or irritation of the nerves or blood vessels (or both) in the lower neck and upper chest area, which is the thoracic spine, the condition is called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. The condition is common in individuals who perform repetitive motions of the arms and shoulders, typically dentists, chiropractors and surgeons. Symptoms include neck, shoulder and arm pain, numbness or impaired circulation to the affected areas. The Cleveland Clinic provides information on symptoms, causes and treatments of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. There is additional information at the National Institute Health’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke website.
