Interstitial Cystitis & Bladder Pain Syndrome Disability Claims

Interstitial cystitis (ICS), also known as bladder pain syndrome (BPS) is an uncomfortable and chronic health condition that can make it difficult to function in the workplace. Symptoms in ICS may range of having to make frequent trips to the bathroom to suffering severe pain as the bladder fills with urine. Some patients feel pain in other areas, including the urethra, lower abdomen, lower back or the various areas in the pelvic region. The pain may be constant or it may come and go. Some people have other health issues, including fibromyalgia, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and other pain syndromes.

Adding the pain of ICS to a busy workday, along with the need to go to the bathroom to urinate more frequently, day and night, can make it impossible to focus on work. Traveling for work, attending meetings, or even focusing on a single task becomes more and more challenging as the symptoms worsen. People try to make changes, like drinking less fluids, consuming less irritating food and drink or even starting a course of medication and/or therapies. But when the problem is not solved and the person can no longer work, they have little choice but to file a disability insurance claim.

This is about a Social Security Disability claim.

Disability insurance companies find ICS a challenging claim. There is no single x-ray that conclusively shows a break or a fracture or nerve damage that leads to ICS. There is no single blood test that demonstrates the presence of the problem. So they take advantage of this.

If your Interstitial Cystitis or Bladder Pain Syndrome claim has been denied by the long-term disability insurance company, you need help from experienced attorneys. We invite you to call our office at 1-877-LTD-CLAIM (1-877-583-2524) to learn how our firm has helped people with your same condition.
