Jason Newfield was selected in the “Ones to Watch” in the law by Long Island Business News, a regional business publication. Mr. Newfield was among a group of six attorneys in a variety of different practice areas who were chosen because of their professional accomplishments and recognition by their peers. He was named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers list as a top attorney in the region for the third consecutive year. The brief item discussed his practice in representing claimants in long term disability insurance and other insurance claims and litigation in both federal and state courts. It noted that many of Mr. Newfield’s clients are doctors, dentists, accountants, lawyers and other professionals and that he frequently lectures to legal, medical and other professional organizations about the disability insurance claims process and disability insurance law and litigation.
This week, Mr. Newfield is an invited speaker at the 10th National Forum on ERISA Litigation, presented by the American Conference Institute. On Tuesday, October 27, Mr. Newfield is speaking on the latest issues in litigation in a panel titled “Life, Health, Disability, Managed Care and Benefit Claims Litigation.” Topics to be covered include contracts, evidence, judicial review of claims, discovery issues in ERISA cases, time limits and efforts by insurance companies to ban discretionary claims.
Being invited to speak at a national conference of this caliber is a clear indication of Mr. Newfield’s position as a leader in the field of disability law.
